about

This is another time bender. Brought out by a certain passage from Murakami about memory and what is real and what is not. It is sort of a double-decker metaphor of our memories as dreams and our dreams as water. It’s a clear boundary that we choose to cross, but just as we cannot breathe underwater, so is it just as dangerous to dwell in the past. You can dive in for a moment and see your lost loved ones, but it is impossible to remain.

lyrics

I walked out to your ocean
Waves of memory
Overtake my being

Slide into the water
My surroundings disappear
Drifting from the current
All place and time lose their hold

Diving in
To those ancient dreams
Another dimension opens
And I am dreaming them anew
That’s where I find you
Again
